| Sycamore Spring Orchard is owned by Bob and Shirley Hess and is operated by 4 generations of the Hess family. We grow Black Raspberries, Pumpkins, Sweet & Sour Cherries, and 11 varieties of apples. Sycamore Spring Orchard carries fresh produce from the local area. From Spring through early Summer we carry bedding plants and beautiful hanging baskets in our greenhouse. Late in June we start pick-your-own Black Raspberries. During the Fall we encourage everyone to come to the orchard and pick their own apples. It is an exceptional experience for the whole family. The trees are easily accessible even for handicapped people. Pick-your- own apple season starts in mid August and runs through mid October. We also offer a great selection of fall decorations including hardy mums, pumpkins, colorful gourds, straw bales and scarecrows. We schedule orchard tours for school groups, scout troops, etc. The tour loads on a large wagon pulled by a John Deere tractor. School groups get off the wagon in the orchard and pick an apple. It's always a challenge to see who can find the biggest apple. We also offer evening hayride/doggie roasts for groups of 15 or more. A great family activity for all ages! Check our Current Events Page for more information. The Orchard Entertainment Hall and covered pavilion are ready to rent for your party, reunion, wedding etc. Click the link for more information and pictures. There is a bakery in the back of the market offering a full line of pies, cakes and cookies. Our specialty is our own home-made apple dumplings. We also make home-made soups and a variety of jams and jellies. Special orders for birthdays and other occasions, including fund raisers, are available. Seasonal and country decorations, apple cider, honey, maple syrup, real Wisconsin extra sharp cheddar cheese, our own gift and fruit baskets, all add up to make Sycamore Spring Orchard worth the trip. |
