We start out by loading on a farm wagon pulled by a John Deere tractor, which takes us down into the orchard. A tour guide rides in the wagon explaining the apple business and also some history of our apple orchard. Once we’re in the orchard, we get off the wagon to pick just the right apple. After everyone has an apple, we load back onto the wagon to head back to the market. The road takes us past the horse pasture where we meet the six horses that live on the farm. Everyone is welcome to enjoy fresh apple cider, (kids get an apple sipper). Each child receives an apple activity book to remember his trip. Teacher’s packs are available with great nutrition information and activities for the classroom. The educational tours are available from the beginning of September through the third to fourth week of October, depending on the apple crop and weather. The cost for educational tours is $4.50 per person. All groups must make a reservation. Time slots fill very quickly so please reserve your date and time early.
